If you have a collection that you have always wanted to show to the public this is your chance. Solano County’s Center for History and Culture, The Vacaville Museum, is planning its next exhibition titled “Solano Collects”.
To date, the Museum has receiveda variety of outstanding private collections in the past month. Nowthis is the lastcall for submissions. To ensure that undiscovered collections will be amongst those juried for possible exhibition in the show, collectors should the Museumtelling about the collection itemsbefore the deadline of July 10th.
The Museum is searching for a wide range of interesting, unique or important collections that people throughout Solano Countymight have in their homes. Perhaps the collection was inherited and the fortunate owner continues to add to it. Or, maybe the collector began at a very young age and still finds hunting for the items a fascinating pursuit.
The Museum encourages a variety of collections: furniture, historical items, things of whimsy, items from different cultures or countries, folk art, antiques, paintings, items very large or very small—or collectibles the Museum hasn’t even thought of.The Museum encourages collectors to, “Surprise us!”
Solano County residents have a treasure trove of unique collections and this is the time to show them off in a museum setting. The Museum welcomesall submissions and the stories they tell.
