We have been a family-owned small farm since 1956, when my father, Wilson Baumgras, a farm boy from Michigan and airline engineer, decided to start a Christmas tree farm. Some of the larger trees which still exist are from that first planting. We have 7 acres of trees in an eclectic mix of young, old, small, big, bushy, skinny, and just plain weird shapes. The trees are mostly white fir and douglas fir. Of five children in the second generation, four still live nearby, with Me (Meg), my brother, Tom, and sister, Katy, taking over most of the work we call it therapy! One grandchild, Jenna, is also a great help. We are a "choose and cut" operation and will loan you a saw, but you must find, cut, carry and load the tree yourself. We have tried to stay low-key and natural and have no gift shop, train rides, snack bars, flocked or pre-cut trees. We do have fabulous views, picnic tables, ponds, and lots of wildlife, mushrooms, and big hills. Many of our customers are bringing their grandchildren, because they remember us from when THEY were kids! We were only closed one year because it was a bad drought, and tinder dry. We welcome large groups, if you call first, and dogs are always welcome.
