About Us:

Operated by the San Diego History Center, the Junípero Serra Museum is an iconic regional landmark. Located just above Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, the Serra sits on one of the most significant historical sites on the West Coast, the site of the first permanent European settlement in what is today the State of California. With its renowned architecture and historic setting, the Junípero Serra museum is one of San Diego’s preferred wedding and event sites.

HOURS:

September 5, 2017 – June 1, 2018: Saturday, Sunday from 10:00 am-4:00 pm; Closed 1:00-1:30 pm for employee breaks.

June 1 – September 3, 2018: Friday – Monday from 10:00 am–5:00 pm; Closed 1:00–1:30 pm for employee breaks.

Please note the following special closures:

Sunday, December 24: Museum and Store will close at 3 pm. 

Monday, December 25: Museum and Store will be closed in observance of the holiday. 

NOTE: The Serra Museum is not currently an ADA-accessible site. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
