About Us:

High Sierra Music has been producing world-class music festivals since 1991. An independent production company based in Berkeley, CA, the organization was founded with the first High Sierra Music Festival, its cornerstone event that takes place every July 4th weekend in Northern California, and remains committed to its grassroots origins by drawing support from its loyal community of patrons, staff, volunteers and non-corporate sponsors. Held in Quincy, CA and celebrating its 20th festival, High Sierra launched as a roots-oriented festival with 20 artists on one main stage and has since evolved into to a 10,000 person event with more than 50 performers on four day-time stages and in four late-night venues. The Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy provide on-site infrastructure with opportunities to swim, bike, fish, golf and hike in the vicinity of a quaint mountain town.

In addition to the High Sierra Music Festival, High Sierra Music, in partnership with McCoury Music, also produces DelFest each Memorial Day weekend in Cumberland, MD. DelFest was born from the desire to create a family-friendly music festival celebrating the rich legacy of McCoury music by providing a forum for world-class musical collaborations while showcasing fresh new talent. Nestled along the Potomac River in the scenic Appalachian Mountains, Cumberland is 137 miles northwest of Washington, DC and offers a wealth of recreational activities including swimming, fishing, hiking, golfing and biking. High Sierra Music has also produced events in Georgia, Massachusetts, Missouri and Las Vegas, and presents concerts in San Francisco and the Lake Tahoe area.

Just picture yourself in a densely packed room full of kids on lots of psychedelic and stimulant drugs that haven't clean themselves in days camping at a music festival. Now imagine that same space in that same scenario with 80% humidity generated from breath and armpits. Welcome to High Sierra Music Festival late night. For the extra ticket price cost you would think they would put some exhaust fans in this thing. Festival ticket 300 bucks one late night show Extra 27.

Always a great place for a venue. Back Door catering runs out of the Mineral Building, so it's convenient.

Air Conditioning and an escape from direct sun. An amazing place to catch a concert like Tom Pettys Guitarmaggedon, was so fun to escape to. Or the Workingmans Dead played in a bluegrass style by the Grateful Bluegrass Boys... Just a lovely break from the heat at HSMF! Simply a magnificent place to sneak away to for Music, and chilling out. A must stop if you find yourself overheating during a festival at the fair grounds!
