"We have been passionate about wines for many years. Having had the opportunity to travel and visit hundreds of boutique wineries around the world, our dream was to one day be the people standing behind the counter pouring our own wines instead of those doing the tasting.

That dream became a reality in 2000, when we purchased a 25 acre parcel in the rolling hills of Paso Robles, a major wine-growing region in Central California, which has been labeled, ""the next Napa Valley."" Situated a mere 25 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the area is influenced by tremendous fluctuations in the weather, where summer days regularly hit in the 100s and evenings dip down into the 40s, placing a great deal of stress on the vines, not to mention on those of us lucky enough to live here. The swing in temperature only intensifies the flavor of the grapes creating the perfect environment for big earthy reds. As such, our first ten acres have been planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Sirah. We planted these grapes in four equal blocks, in high-density rows of 6x8 feet.

We simply want to produce limited quantities of the highest quality grapes available, to be handcrafted into our premium wines. Our dream of creating memorable wines is now a reality. We look forward to sharing these wines and memories with you."

Absolutely some of the best reds ever! We lived in Napa Valley and Gelfand wines blow them away. Owner Len was gracious enough to accommodate my wife and I this past week and to share his amazing story of how he got started. We purchased a case, joined the club immediately and can't wait to try each bottle. Prices are very reasonable too! Thanks Len for a great Paso experience! One of our top 5 wineries!

Absolutely Amazing Bold Red Nectar of the Central Coast. Planning a surf trip up to Cambria from San Diego in Mid Jan 2018 and hope to pay a visit to this vineyard and experience first hand, the Magic that goes into this incredible wine.

Don't tell anyone (a locals' secret) but this boutique vineyard is worth a visit, if you can get in (call ahead). The big, bold red wines pair beautifully with most foods and are each is uniquely memorable. The barn style tasting area lies in a beautiful hillside and is cozy, casual and friendly. Prices are moderate.

I cannot believe there are only 2 - 5 star reviews here. Gelfund Vineyards is one os Paso Robles hidden gems. Leonard Gelfund is an amazing host - pouring some truly excellent wines for this region. We visited Gelfund early on in our Paso Robles 3 day wine tasting trip, and no one beat him. Wines were exceptional, and not just one, all of them were soooo good. The SFR red is a great easy drinking wine, and the Syrahs and Petite Syrahs are to die for. Not to mention the dessert wines. We really like the Sophie, and late harvest Cab (yes Cab) that was delicious but not too over sweet. Leonard was so personable and took the time to really talk about their wines and the story behind them. If you are heading to Paso Robles for wine tasting this should be a must stop on your trip.
