Unbelievable strawberry shake with Travellers Special, which comes with unlimited bowls of pea soup. I suggest you not set the special, because one bowl is plenty for anyone. The restaurant is moderately priced, which is expensive to me. My friend got fried chicken, which she said was excellent. She took two pieces home. The total price for two was $30. The ambience was nothing special quiet. The waiter was nice and efficient. I will probably return someday and try the fish and chips.
Like mostly other people who come here, we were here to try out the pea soup. For what's worth, the soup is quite nice. Very good if you even like pea soup. The place is a bit run down though. Food portions are generous, styled like a traditional diner.
This place is a-ok. The pea soup is excellent as pea soup goes. The all you can eat soup with bread and a drink is what I get when I travel through. The ambiance is very gift shop centric. And they have the usual assortment of nonsense and a good selection of odd stuff. And good restrooms. The prices are pretty good, and the drinks are cold. The service is a little slow, but every time I go there are children making noise and a bit busy in general, probably my luck.. It's not just another diner, if I'm in town I'll be back again.
Love this place. The soup is amazingly delicious. Came back for lunch a couple of days later and had the meatloaf melt. It was phenomenal! Great atmosphere.
Pretty sure this place only still is operating out of nostalgia. Typical old school diner with astronomically inflated prices. It wasn't BAD. It also wasn't GOOD. It's always been on my list of places to stop. A friend who is local to the area said it was like Denny's. This is fairly accurate. I can check this off my box as some place I've tried and certainly don't need to revisit.
