Louis Stern Fine Arts, located in the center of West Hollywood's Avenue of Art and Design, offers a groundbreaking re-investigation of important mid-twentieth century west coast abstract painters.  Artists Lorser Feitelson (Lorser Feitelson and the Invention of Hard Edge Painting, The Late Paintings, and The Kinetic Series:  Works form 1916-1923), Karl Benjamin (Karl Benjamin:  Paintings from 1950 - 1965, Drawings from 1950 - 1965, Dance the Line: Paintings by Karl Benjamin, and Karl Benjamin and the Evolution of Abstraction) and Helen Lundeberg (Helen Lundeberg and the Illusory Landscape, Infinite Distance - Architectural Compositions by Helen Lundeberg) have each been featured in extensive retrospective exhibitions.  Local legend Frederick Wight (Frederick Wight:  Visions of California, Seeing the Light: Post-Modern Luminous Landscapes) has also been presented in retrospective.  The gallery represents each of these artists, as well as other influential mid-century abstract painters including Roger Kuntz, June Wayne, and James Jarvaise.

Contemporary artists in the gallery's stable include Richard Wilson, Mark Leonard, Bruce Cohen and Elizabeth Patterson, along with sculptors Knopp Ferro and Cecilia Miguez and photographers Lucien Clergue, Leonard Nimoy and Jean-Francois Spricigo.

In addition to the exhibition program, Louis Stern Fine Arts has had a long and successful involvement in the secondary market, with a special concentration in Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern and Latin American art. As director of The Alfredo Ramos Martínez Research Project, Stern oversees the development of the catalogue raisonné for the artist.
