Underwater Artists - Octopuses

Saturday, Aug 7, 2021 from 10:00am to 10:45am

Kids will create art while exploring ocean animals and habitats during this educator-led virtual experience.

An Aquarium educator will guide young artists in creating art in steps by making and sharing observations of their ocean animal art subject. Using live animal webcams and dynamic media, participants will discover interesting animal fun facts, explore ocean science, and apply what they learn in a fun and engaging way. Make sure you have your art supplies ready to go–we suggest you use what you’re most comfortable with (crayons, colored pencils, markers, paints, etc.).

The virtual connection will be hosted on Zoom and you may be able to hear or see other families who are participating in the program. Participants are asked to be supervised by an adult during the program.

Octopuses: Octopuses are flowing, ever changing invertebrates. In this program, we will use their ability to camouflage, change textures, and move gracefully through the water as inspiration to create our art.

Duration: 45 minutes

Recommended for ages 5-12 years
