Open Studios

We are thrilled to announce that San Diego’s Poet Laureate, Jason Magabo Perez, will join us as both a guest studio artist and guest performer on June 10th! A longtime fan of Space 4 Art, Jason is passionate about using his post as Poet Laureate to demystify poetry and help everyday people access the tools to express themselves through poetry.

In that spirit, he will create a pop-up Poetry Lab in one of our open spaces where guests may mingle with him, watch him composing in action, collaborate with him if they're so moved, and explore his other works on display.

At 6:30 pm, Jason will also be our featured performer. Other S4A musicians will also perform throughout the evening, including The Music Studio Team, Six/Eight (an Indie Rock band), Ariana & Chris Warren, and Felix Diaz of Drummers Without Borders. We’ll be serving delicious empanadas from Empanada Kitchen, as well as a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at our concession table. (We accept credit, cash or Venmo.) Additionally, the Yummi Tummi Ice Cream truck will be onsite to satisfy your sweet cravings.

S4A Open Studios are always free to the public, but we encourage RSVPs for logistical planning and so we have enough concessions on hand.
