Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, California, will come alive on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the picnic area behind the museum. Experience what life was like during the California Gold Rush.
· Learn what it was like to be a miner in Coloma and what tools were used to find gold.
· Visit the miners’ store to pick up supplies.
· Learn how to keep your clothes clean from the laundress.
· Have your ore assayed and stake your claim at the claims office.
· Visit with the blacksmith as he makes items to use in the mines.
· Learn about the people who were involved in the gold discovery at the millworkers’ cabin.
· Don’t forget to visit our historic buildings.
